BEAUTY TUTORIAL: ELLE MAGAZINE
When the gal’s over at ELLE mag H.Q asked me to do a wee lil’ ‘tips and tricks’ beauty tutorial (and be my own ‘hand model’ to boot!) well I admit I couldn’t have been happier! Tutorials + Lashes + liquid liner + hand modelling – my ‘childhood dreams’ realized voillat!! and oui oui merci!
Step 1. Trim to fit
All eyes are shaped differently, so don’t assume the standard-size falsie is going to be right. Hold each strip of lashes up to each eye (most people have slight differences between one eye and the other) to find where you need to cut them. Use nail scissors to trim only a few millimetres at a time until they’re just right
Step 2. Dot on the glue
Squeeze a drop of glue onto a plastic tray, the box or lid of your glue. To keep mess at a minimum, use tweezers to pick up the lashes and dip each end of the strip gently into the glue, then again in the centre. Use your finger or a cotton bud to spread a little of the glue from the centre outwards. You want it to be just a little tacky, so don’t rush to apply your strip.
Step 3. Press at each end
Apply the strip by pressing it on to the lash line starting with the outer edges. Hold it there for 20 to 30 seconds (with your eyes closed) or risk it peeling back before it’s dry.
Step 4. Layer on liner
Go over the lash line with your favourite liner – a liquid formula will offer some extra hold once it’s dry.
